This is The Brain That Wouldn't Die, but this is a better transfer than what I have seen on the Archive with all 82 min, plus this is widescreen, unlike most of the other copies on the Archive.
IMDB for this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052646/
(p.s. I'm not calling this the uncut version because the uncut version, according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brain_That_Wouldn%27t_Die#DVD_releases), is 85 min. long and wasn't shown in theaters. This version is widely accepted as extended)
The AVI File is Marked as DivX but is in fact an AVI with a wmv2 codec (So that it will play in wmp without a codec pack)
EDIT: I have uploaded a .torrent file. Please, if you could, download it and seed for everyone so that everyone else can have a faster downloading experience.

According to imdb, the correct aspect ratio for this film is 1.66:1 - odd, considering that 1.66:1 is common for British films, and not only is this a US film, but I don't think it was ever released in UK theatres. Evidently, it didn't pass the British censors.

Subject: Theatrical Matte
Subject: Theatrical Matte
This version is presented with a theatrical Matte. Its a box that is used to turn films shot in full screen into a widescreen format. It does in fact block off the top and bottom of the picture. It was a common practice until recent years. The cinematographer would place most of the action in the middle portion of the screen, knowing that it would be blocked off. Often the mattes would be removed to create a square picture for TV or home video. Sometimes this would even reveal things that you weren't supposed to see. That said, I doubt this film was ever presented this way in theaters. Though it is
possible.

Classic flick, and looks damn good too. Is there any way you could upload this as an MPEG-2 or an HD file? Thanks.

I knew it wasn't originally released in a widescreen format. I'm not quite sure why this on is widescreen. I too hope that there is a full screen version that looks this good. (p.s. Thanks for the positive review)

I had to check this one out mostly because the description said that it was a better copy of the other extended version here on the Archive and that it was widescreen. I did a side by side camparison and here's what I came up with:
Yes, the picture quality is much clearer and sharper than the other. The same could be said for the sound. Now we come to the widescreen format; first thing is, THIS MOVIE WAS NOT ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN WIDESCREEN. In the comparison, I could see that the original fullscreen image was cropped top and bottom to create the widescreen image. Now, with that said, what we have here is a terrific upload and a worthy addition to the Archive, but I've got to take a star away for the cropping. But not to despair, that leaves four stars for this version and I don't see any reason to take any more from it. Let's see if someone can cough up a fullscreen edition that looks this good.
